Course Project Overview

Designing a Compensation Plan

Objectives

The primary learning objective of the individually completed Course Project is to provide practical

experience in designing specific elements of a compensation structure for an organization, beginning

with creating a business, staffing it, implementing the pay plan, and assessing performance.

Getting Started

The Individual Course Project requires a great deal of work. Please do not wait until we have covered all

of the material to get started. Familiarize yourself with the online resources, both O*NET and the

information at salary.com. The DeVry University online library, as well as the on-call librarians, can

provide a great deal of research assistance. Use O* NET and/or salary.com to provide key critical

information related to job descriptions. Further, check out the information provided online at the

Department of Labor (dol.gov) and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (bls.gov).
