Company ABC has been providing outdoor adventure education programmes targeted at youths from the age of 15-yrs to working adults since its inception in the year 2000. It also works closely with the educational institutions and other agencies as part of its strategies in promoting the benefits of outdoor adventure education. Over the years, the company had managed to achieve numerous accolades for its robust systems and processes in the areas of safety and risk management, corporate and financial governance as well as programme quality. It also adopts a structured career development framework for its pool of 40 Instructional Staff. Recently, as part of a National Master Plan for the industry, the Ministry of Education had announced plans to provide opportunities for all Primary 5 students to be provided with at least a 2-day 1-night Outdoor Adventure Education experience and is looking toward existing providers to assist in the organisation and conduct of these camps. For Company ABC, this presents an opportunity to further grow and develop its capabilities and revenue source. You have been tasked by the Management Team to lead this project.

(a) Based on the information provided on Company ABC, describe the possible current and additional areas which would form the organisational context of their risk management process. Your areas should include an explanation of characteristics of the organisation that would have a bearing on the risk assessment and management for the proposed project.

(b) From the organisational and management perspective, illustrate the various areas that Company ABC would need to consider in the implementation of the proposed project. Identify and describe at least 2 areas that the organisation would need to develop its capabilities in order to implement the proposed project.

(c) Conduct and outline a thorough risk assessment of the proposed project and develop proposed mitigation measures with reference to the characteristic of the organisation mentioned in part (a).

(d) Based on the results of your risk assessment exercise, illustrate how you would communicate them to the leadership team of Company ABC.
