Overview
The landscape of education and training has been evolving and changing rapidly over the past decade. New tools and ways to incorporate activities that mirror real-world problem-solving and experiences can engage and encourage learners to think beyond their textbooks. In this proposal, you will present your rationale and action plan for implementing two forms of emerging technology.
You will use the proposal you created for this project for the rest of the assignments in the course.
Scenario
Your supervisor has tasked you with providing a research-based proposal for how to effectively integrate technologies into the educational needs of your organization (PK-12, higher education, corporate training, military training, or government). You must look beyond using MS Office or Google Docs to complete assignments/deliverables.
You will select at least two emerging technologies and propose their integration. These technologies must support your learning goals and create an engaging environment for your learners. Your supervisor requires at least one multimedia tool that isn’t PowerPoint or Google Slides and one collaboration tool.
In selecting your technologies, provide research that supports how these tools provide a meaningful learning experience and are accessible to learners with diverse learning needs.
Here are some suggestions to help you begin. You can choose from this list and/or use the Internet
· Slido – Engage your participants with live polls, Q&A, quizzes, and word clouds whether you meet in the office, online, or in between.
· Padlet – Make beautiful boards to collect, organize, and present anything.
· Vyond – Offers a free trial to create animations/videos.
· Miro – Miro is your team’s visual platform to connect, collaborate, and create—together.
· SoftChalk – provides a cloud-based solution for collaboration and lesson planning, as well as a way to link content from multiple courses in a single location.
· Twiddla – Online Whiteboard for the Modern Classroom.
· Evernote – helps organize different kinds of media. With everything in one place, this tool is especially useful for sharing ideas for team teaching and collaboration across districts or locations.
Instructions
In this assignment, you will be providing your employer with an overview of the types of technology you will be including in your final proposal. This will serve as an initial recommendation to your employer and will help guide you as you work toward the creation of a formal proposal for your organization.
For this assignment, you will submit a 3 page technology review in which you:
· Explain the purpose and rationale for your choice of proposed technologies in an introductory paragraph.
· Explain at least three reasons why these particular tools are considered an emerging technology for your chosen educational or training setting, using the current literature to support your rationale.
· Outline 4-5 potential benefits of using these technologies in the classroom or workplace setting.
· Discuss 4-5 instructional goals and how incorporating these technologies supports these goals.
· Summarize the main points of the proposal in a conclusion paragraph.
· Provide at least five peer-reviewed references published in the last three years.
