Assignment Description

This is an INDIVIDUAL assignment, please complete All sections:

Question 1 – is an application Of stakeholder management processes and a discussion Of project management documents from the PMBOK (edition 6).

Question 2 – is a business continuity analysis exercise Of an organisation.

Question 3 – is a schedule development activity requiring a Gantt Chart and a written reflection to be completed.

Word Document — Should be well presented and structured with a table Of contents, bibliography and appendices (if required). All figures and tables in the Word document should be labelled and referred to in the text Of the document.

Gantt Chart — Should show critical path and Leads and Lags. It should also be saved as a PDF.

Question 1 — Project Management Processes

A business continuity programme Of two to three years in duration has launched in your organisation. Conduct a stakeholder analysis and produce a stakeholder register and stakeholder engagement plan for this programme. Identify and discuss Other project management documents that could be used at each Stage Of the life cycle Of the programme, using best practices from the PMBOK (PMI, 2017) as the basis Of your discussion.

Question 2 — Business Continuity Processes

Please identify a mission-critical activity in your organisation or a fictional organisation and use tables where relevant to answer the following questions:

a) Describe the activity outlining why it is mission-critical.

b) Carry Out a qualitative business impact analysis for this activity.

c) Conduct a qualitative risk assessment for this activity.

d) Discuss the risk strategy that is being pursued/or should be pursued.

e) Discuss the business continuity strategy that is being pursued/or should be pursued.

Question 3 — Schedule Development

Based on the business continuity strategy that is being pursued/or should be pursued in

Question 2, produce a business continuity test schedule for the above mission-critical activity. The schedule should be in Gantt chart format and describe the (i) inputs, (ii) tools & techniques and (iii) Outputs used in the process.

You are required at a minimum to produce the following inputs making assumptions where necessary:

a) WBS

b) Activity List

c) Activity Duration Estimates

d) Activity Resource Requirements

Presentation Of inputs a) to d) should be in table format or be visible in the Gantt chart.

You will also be required at a minimum to use the following tools & techniques:

a) Critical Path Method

b) Leads and Lags

Output: A Gantt chart saved as a PDF file. The Critical Path and Leads and Lags should be evident in the Gantt chart.

Marks = 35 marks for essay, 15 marks for Gantt chart, 50 marks in total

Assignment Format

The assignment should be Times New Roman, 12pt font size, with 1.5 line spacing.

Referencing Style is Harvard Referencing (more details below).

Extension Policy

As per SETU policy, submission dates will only be extended in exceptional circumstances.

If an extension is required, students must email extendedcampus.cw@setu.ie in advance Of the deadline. Supporting documentary evidence may also be requested.

Penalties for late submission

Where no formal extension has been granted assignments received at any time after the submission date may be graded, but a penalty applies, as follows:

1. Assignments submitted at any time up to one week after the due date to have the mark awarded to them reduced by 10 per cent (for example, from 57% to 47%);
2. Assignments submitted more than one week but up to two weeks after the due date to have the mark reduced by 20 per cent (for example, from 87% to 67%);

Assignments received more than two weeks after the due date shall not be accepted. In this event, the learner shall receive a grade Of O.
