For your final paper, you will write a 5-7 page argumentative essay analyzing a film adaptation of your choice. Your film may come from any film we studied in class, any film from the Vampire Adaptation Project, or any film of your own choosing (as long as it is an adaptation of a prior text, including a previous film, such as Michael Haneke’s adaptation of his own film, Funny Games. Your paper must include a clear thesis, textual and/or visual analysis, and research using credible academic or journalistic sources. By completing this assignment, you will demonstrate your ability to: • Analyze a film as an adaptation and make an argument about its interpretive strategies. • Engage with scholarly conversations about adaptation, genre, authorship, or narrative. • Incorporate and respond to counterarguments or alternate interpretations. • Conduct research and integrate at least 3 credible secondary sources. • Use proper MLA style for in-text citations and a Works Cited page
