M20467 ASSESMENT 1 REPORT GUIDANCE
Assessed Report: Making a Strategic Review (65% of total Module mark)
The coursework will be a 2500 word individual report based on a strategic review of an organisation (a list of organisations is provided below). Your individual report MUST be your own work. Unfortunately I am unable to publish examples of previous student’s reports on Moodle, but seminar tutors will show examples of good and bad practice in seminars

At the end of the report assessment students should be able to:

1. Appraise strategic issues at business & corporate levels using appropriate frameworks & evidence to identify, develop & recommend strategic options (LO2)
2. Propose appropriate strategies for issue resolution & the strategic changes needed for their implementation (LO3)
   Overview:
   You are required to act in the role of external consultant and prepare a report based on the strategic challenge faced by a particular organisation to your seminar tutor who will adopt the role of the Chairman of the organisation. This will involve a number of tasks (see Figure 1)
   Select Company and Industry Scope
   Conduct an external analysis
   Conduct an internal analysis
   Propose strategies through an evaluation process
