Assessment Knowledge questions (written assignment)
Command words Analyse, evaluate, explain, outline, assess, discuss

This adult social care leadership unit tests how well you understand the business side of running a service: resource planning, forecasting, technology, sustainability and continuity planning; safe recruitment, retention and staffing patterns; commissioning, funding and market drivers; and integrated health and social care systems. Each knowledge question must be answered with reference to your own organisation.

Unit Overview

This unit will develop your knowledge of business and resource management. You will look at national and local strategies on resource planning and integrated approaches in health and social care, the importance of continuity planning and your role within resource management, human resources including recruitment and retention and approaches to improve these in the care sector, and market provision: how your service fits in the wider market and how it will need to evolve to meet changing demand.

Analyse – study or examine something in detail (all its component parts) to discover what works well, what does not and how it is beneficial; a conclusion may suggest improvements. Evaluate – judge the quality, importance or value of something (why it is used, what purpose it has, whether it fulfils that purpose); a conclusion may recommend continuing, discontinuing or changing it.
