Term Project
Overview
In this module, students will work individually to submit an investigative research paper based on his/her topic of interest with some original contribution. The project may be a survey or a high-level structure.
· The term project can be of the following two kinds.
o A SURVEY paper on an emerging IoT problem
§ 15+ articles
§ The survey should provide an adequate taxonomy of the papers summarized in the paper. One or a few papers will be provided as “excellent” examples.
§ The survey should produce one or two research problems/ideas.
o You can work on a unique research problem or a development/implementation project on IoT. The work will produce a paper.
· A high-level structure of the term paper:
o IEEE double-column format, 5+ Pages, and well-marked references
o You will find the IEEE conference paper’s template here: https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html
· To search for quality papers, please use IEEE XploreLinks to an external site., ACM Digital LibraryLinks to an external site., and Google ScholarLinks to an external site.. You should use appropriate keywords to find the papers related to your term project’s topic/subject or expected title. Please do not consider any paper that is shorter than well-formatted five full pages.
· There will be three phases of submission required for this term project.
· The term project proposal (Due by Friday at 11.59 pm on Week 8):
· The term project progress report (Due by Friday at 11.59 pm on Week 12)
· The paper on the term project is due by Monday of Exam Week at 11.59 p.m. The paper will be reviewed with Turnitin.com to check for plagiarism.
· A 10-minute short video presentation on the project is also due at this time. This video must be posted on Discussion Forum as a requirement of this submission.
