Purpose
The purpose of this assignment will be to gain an understanding of your new role as a DNP nurse leader and to address the scope of your new responsibilities including implementation of clinical practice change. You can draw from your interaction with leaders in the community via the immersion practice where you have been shadowing a clinical leader and from the collaboration with the DNP Practicum Project Thesis Proposal, your mentor, professor and your Associate Dean. Additionally, in the course of this assignment you will compare your DNP leadership role with other professional leadership roles. Lastly, you will consider the skills and leadership-oriented resources (such as your membership with the American Organization for Nursing Leadership) available to help support your role as a DNP nurse leader.
