This presentation assignment is an analysis and application of a selected theory. Select a theory to focus on. The theory can be a nursing theory or a theory from another discipline.
For this first assignment, you will create a slide presentation using a design tool of your choice (PowerPoint, Google Slides, Canva, etc.).
This presentation should be in current APA format: concise bullet points, citations on the slides, and use either speaker notes for narrative content or voiceover to present the content.
- Slide 1: Title Slide- The title should include the name of the theory and theorist
- Slide 2: Introduction slide
- Slides 3-4: Overview of the theory (include foundational information about the theorist and the basic concepts and assumptions of the theory).
- Slide 5: Overall focus of the theory (type of practice, type of patient, or type of setting, etc.)
- Slide 6: Example of knowledge the theory adds to nursing
- Slide 7: Example of how the theory could be used to structure or support practice
- Slide 8: Example of how the theory could be used to innovate nursing (develop something new or improve an existing policy/process).
- Slide 9: Identify major strengths and major limitations of the theory
- Slide 10: Conclusion slide
- Slide 11: References
The presentation should be no less than 10 slides and no more than 15 slides including title and references.
The assignment requirements include that you upload a file of the full-text article for each listed reference.
