Based on the learning and development which has been established from in class lectures and activities, students are expected to complete a written assignment in the form of a Report which addresses the task outlined below:

Choose a current specific health and social care job role in the UK that you are interested in pursuing in the future.

For this report you will need to:

a) analyse the personal employability skills required for this job

b) evaluate your own skills against this job, and

c) create an action plan and timeline for developing the skills required for you to achieve this position

Within the steps above, you should also be able to demonstrate:

  • how you can build your personal brand
  • promote your professional identity, and
  • build a network for achieving successful employment.

2. Analyse the employability skills required for this job role.

3. How you can you assess your own skills currently, e.g. your strengths, areas of improvement, any tools you have used to assess this, who could assist you with identified your skills and/or improving them, etc.

4. What health and social care-related experience and qualifications do you have so far that could be considered for this job role (e.g. trainings, certificates, paid or voluntary work, etc.)

5. How you can build your personal brand, what resources you could use, and what information.

For their submission, students are required to use a Microsoft Word Document, which should include the following:

a) A cover page

b) Evidence of learning throughout the set tasks and may include visual, audio, and written formats.

c) A reference list, following the University’s Harvard Referencing style.

Further guidance and a suggested template is provided on Moodle and is recommended for use.

General Submission Guidance for this Assessment:

1. All written submissions must include a title page that clearly states your name, your student number, the module code and title, and your assignment title.

2. Written submissions should be typed in Arial font, size 11 with 1.5 line spacing and justified text alignment.

3. The assignment should have an appropriate structure, include page numbers, with subheadings, and written paragraphs to divide the sections.

4. The UWTSD’s Harvard Referencing style should be applied for all in-text citations and references in your assignment.
