This Trinity College Dublin case study is set for Junior Sophister nursing and midwifery students in Semester 1 2026. Assessment Details
Present a case study on making improvements in the nutritional status of a client or patient.
- The case study should emphasise one key aspect of nutrition for this patient or client and identify how improvements could be supported by the nurse or midwife.
- Aspects of nutrition that could be considered include ageing, malnutrition, pregnancy, chronic illness, sensory impairment, and social or psychological issues. This is not an exhaustive list, and you can choose an alternative issue relating to nutritional status.
- Use a pseudonym and make sure you respect the confidentiality and preserve the anonymity of any patient or client in your response.
- Support your answer with up to 3 references if relevant.
